Curriculum details
Curriculum details
Greenview Islamic International School offers a curriculum based on the internationally recognized Cambridge pathway, adapted for an international education with a Malaysian context. For primary students, the school follows the Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP), with students undertaking Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations in Year 6 and Year 9 to assess academic progress. The secondary curriculum culminates in the Cambridge IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) examinations in Year 11, which are widely accepted by universities globally. Alongside the Cambridge curriculum subjects like English, Mathematics, and Science, the school provides a robust Islamic Studies Programme. This includes the Teach Your Child Islaam at-Tawheed series, covering subjects such as At-Tawheed, Fiqh, Tafseer, Qur-aan Recitation, and Hadeeth, with secondary students sitting for the Cambridge O Level Islamiyat in Year 11. Arabic Language is also a significant subject, with encouragement for students to sit for the Cambridge IGCSE First Language Arabic.
Curriculum details
For children in Kindergarten (ages 4-6), the school follows the UK's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is followed by the UK National Syllabus for the Primary school (ages 6-11). In the Secondary school (ages 11-16), students are prepared for the Cambridge IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) examinations, an internationally recognized qualification. Subjects offered within the IGCSE program include options in commerce and science streams.
Alongside the core academic subjects, the curriculum integrates Islamic education, which has three main pillars: Qur'anic Studies, Islamic Studies, and the Arabic language.
Attend a meeting at the school. It is mandatory for parents to meet with the school's admissions team and the School Principal. During this meeting, parents will receive enrollment forms and other related documents, have the opportunity to share important information about their child, and gain a clear understanding of the school's policies, rules, and regulations.
Submit the application and supporting documents. Following the meeting, parents are required to complete the enrollment form and submit all necessary supportive documents. These typically include copies of the student's and parents'/guardian's identification, previous school leaving certificates, academic reports, and a doctor's certificate if the student has any learning difficulties.
Accept offer and pay fees. All required fees must be paid in full at least two weeks before the start of each academic term to confirm the student's place. Parents should be aware that late payments may incur an administrative charge, and the school reserves the right to bar students from attending classes or sitting for exams if fees are not settled.
Admissions
Book an Open Day visit or a school tour. The school regularly holds Open Days, which you can book in advance. This is an opportunity to see the campus, meet staff, and learn more about the school's programs.
Submit an application. After your initial enquiry, you will need to complete the school's online application form. You will be required to upload supporting documents, such as your child's birth certificate, passport copies (for non-Malaysian applicants), and previous school reports. A non-refundable application fee is also required.
Schedule an assessment. Once your application is processed, the school will arrange an entrance test for your child. The assessment varies by age group and may include tests in English and Maths, as well as an oral interview to assess your child's English communication skills. For kindergarten entry, a trial day with teacher observation is conducted.
Attend a parent interview. Both parents are required to attend an interview with the Principal or CEO to discuss the assessment results and your child's admission.
Receive an offer and accept the place. If the interview and assessment are successful, the school will send an official offer letter. You will have seven days to accept the offer and pay the required fees to complete the admissions process.
