Deutsche Schule Athen (DSA) is a German overseas school in Athens, founded in 1896. It serves students from ages 3 to 18, offering Kindergarten through Sekundarstufe II, with a final DIA qualification that enables access to higher education in Germany and many countries. The curriculum is German, with a pronounced Greek emphasis, and instruction is bilingual: many subjects are taught in German while others are taught in Greek. At Profil D (grades 5–12) and Profil E (7–12), German instruction remains central, with electives such as Altgriechisch, French, and Informatik to broaden study options and future pathways. The school maintains a Maroussi campus with classrooms, an auditorium, a roofed outdoor pool, and a new athletics arena (opened 2022). DSA offers extracurriculars, including debate and MUN (DSAMUN), a tradition in theatre, and community service and ecological initiatives. Exchange programs with Germany and language and cultural activities support intercultural understanding and higher education.
DES Schools are a bilingual Greek-English IB pathway for children aged 3 to 16. DES delivers the International Baccalaureate Programme across Primary (PYP) and Middle Years (MYP), with a High School planned for 2026. The school is the first bilingual Greek institution to combine IB with the Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Subjects are taught through CLIL, meaning Greek and English are core languages, with Spanish, German or French offered as additional languages. The curriculum emphasises inquiry, conceptual understanding and action, supported by Personalized, Differentiated, Blended learning and a Flipped Classroom approach. In PYP, students study Greek/English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, STEM, Coding, Music, Arts and Yoga. In MYP, eight subject groups are studied with criterion-related assessment, and Service as Action and the Personal Project are core components. Primary is in Varkiza; Secondary in Agia Marina Koropiou; High School opens in 2026. DES participates in Erasmus+ and is Round Square candidate.
I.M. Panagiotopoulos School is a private day school in Greece offering a bilingual Greek–English education from Nursery to Lyceum. The curriculum integrates English-medium instruction across subjects as part of the English programme, with an English as an Additional Language (EAL) pathway to develop fluency in English alongside the home language. Primary education uses Pearson Edexcel iPrimary to build a solid foundation for progression to the International A-Level curriculum, while Junior and Senior High School students study with EMI and the Edexcel framework to prepare for study in international education systems. High School prepares students for studies in Greece or abroad, with support from leadership and teachers. The school collaborates with the British Council, including joint programmes such as the Saturday Creative School and the British Summer School in Athens. It has a history since 1891 and expanded facilities in Pallini to support growth, with exchanges and citizenship initiatives enriching language and culture.
