Haileybury Astana provides a British curriculum for ages 2–18, delivering Cambridge IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the Sixth Form. English is the language of instruction across the programme, with staff and a clear progression from early years to pre-university study. Founded in 2011 as a non‑profit educational project, the school opened in 2012 in Astana and is part of the Haileybury Schools Group, with a partner school in Almaty. It has accreditation from Kazakhstan's International Accreditation and Rating Agency. The campus sits along the Ishim River and offers a 25‑metre indoor swimming pool, a sports hall, a dance and performing arts studio, an astroturf pitch and tennis courts, plus a music recording studio and technology‑rich learning zones. The Sci‑Tech Hub opened in 2025, featuring robotics arenas, 3D printers and advanced science laboratories. Co‑curricular life includes MUN conferences, the UNESCO Club, Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, language clubs.
Miras International School Astana is a private school in Kazakhstan offering Baccalaureate continuum: PYP, MYP and DP, for students aged 3 to 18. Opened in 1999, it was Kazakhstan's first school authorized for all IB continuums and it maintains graduates enrolling at top universities. The teaching staff comes from more than 10 countries, with many teachers experienced as international examiners. The campus includes a Music School offering a five‑year program in piano, dombra, violin and vocal studies, plus a Music Studio and an Early Musical Development group. The Centre for Harmonics runs after‑school arts and sports activities, including Dance, Painting, Football, Taekwondo, Basketball, Chess, Breakdance and Robotics, with language classes for primary students. A Learning Support Center provides psychological support and SEN services. Spectrum International School Astana delivers a Cambridge International Curriculum for ages 3 to 18, with a dual diploma option. The school runs Cambridge Primary Grades 0–5, Lower Secondary 6–8, Cambridge IGCSE 9–10, and Advanced AS/A Levels 11–12, with the curriculum adapted to Spectrum's context and aligned to CAIE standards. The school provides a 13-year education and operates a Testing Center for international exams to support entry to leading universities. The campus is housed in a new building opened in 2023–24, five minutes from the Khazret Sultan Mosque, with science laboratories, rehearsal and performance spaces, and skylights that flood interiors with natural light. Security is high, with 255 CCTV cameras and on-site 24/7 staff. Spectrum hosts a broad activity program through Spectrum Life, including Coding Club, Art Club, Debate, and Music, and maintains partnerships with Bilim Orda, UNESCO, ECIS, and the London College of Music Examinations. Kazakhstan International School Astana offers the International Baccalaureate continuum (PYP, MYP, and DP) in Astana's EXPO area. The DP follows six subject groups: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts, with three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, and Service. KIS Astana plans an inquiry-led, globally minded curriculum from Early Years through to DP, with PYP in Kindergarten through Grade 5 and MYP in Grades 6-10. The 2024 campus provides indoor and outdoor spaces, including an artificial football pitch, a running track, a tennis court, two indoor pools, a large sports hall, and dedicated spaces for Music, Art, Dance, and Physical Education. After-school options feature Football, Karate, Robotics, Drama, Chess, Dombra, and languages. The school emphasizes a multilingual, culturally diverse community with English as the medium of instruction and a planned Parent-Teacher Association.
QSI International School of Astana offers a bespoke, AP-enabled K–12 program administered by Quality Schools International. The curriculum is organized around Exit Outcomes—Knowledge, Competencies, and Success Orientations—and delivered through Mastery Learning, flexible pacing, and small class sizes. Courses include Mathematics; English/Literature; Cultural Studies; Science; Languages Other Than English; Creative and Applied Arts; and Personal Health. An Intensive English program supports language development, with placement assessments in reading, writing, and mathematics guiding level placement; AP courses are offered in eight subjects, with AP exams in May. Opened in 2005, the campus features 35 classrooms, a central library, science and computer laboratories, art and music rooms, a double gym, weight room, auditorium, and an Early Childhood Center with its own library and cafeteria. The school emphasizes Kazakh and Central Asian culture and offers active clubs such as Model United Nations, Math Counts, and Scholars Cup, alongside extensive language study (Russian, Spanish, French, Kazakh).
