Taipei American School (TAS) is a private international day school in Taipei's Tianmu area offering an American-based education for KA through Grade 12. The language of instruction is English, with Mandarin taught as an additional language from Kindergarten onward. TAS is hosted on a 15-acre campus in Tianmu, a northern suburb of Taipei, featuring a dedicated Arts Center, science and technology labs, multiple gymnasia, and extensive athletic facilities. The school provides AP and IB pathways within an American framework and serves a diverse expatriate community of around 2,400 students annually. TAS maintains bus service for many Taipei-area residents and emphasizes a co-educational environment without on-campus boarding.
Kang Chiao International School - Xiugang Campus, established in 2002 and located on the 4.5-hectare Xiugang Hill in New Taipei City at an elevation of 500 meters, offers bilingual education for Grades 7 to 12. The school provides multiple curricular pathways, including the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), IB Diploma Programme (DP), Advanced Placement (AP), and a localized Taiwanese curriculum. Notably, the campus features a 1.8-hectare field education area with indigenous plant life and trails through cherry forests, supporting its focus on environmental awareness. A distinctive feature of the student experience is the mandatory "Exploring Taiwan/Asia Program." As part of this signature initiative, students must complete physical and cultural challenges such as climbing the 3,886-meter Syue Mountain in Grade 8, swimming 3.3 kilometers across Sun Moon Lake in Grade 9, and undertaking a 1,000-kilometer cycling journey around Taiwan in Grade 10.
Asia American International Academy (AAIA) is located in Linkou District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The campus is near the Taoyuan Airport MRT line (A8 Chang-Gung Station and A9 Linkou Station) and is close to Mitsui Outlet Park Linkou and Shine Square. The school offers an American-based curriculum for grades 6–12 and is accredited by WASC.
Located in Hsinchu City's Xiangshan District, Hsinchu International School sits on Niu Pu East Road near Xiangshan Elementary School. Founded in 1981, it is an international school offering a Western program taught in English. The school is fully licensed and holds Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation, with ECIS listing. It serves Pre‑Kindergarten through Grade 12 and draws students from around 20 nationalities. Class sizes range from 10 to 20 students, with an average teacher‑student ratio of about 14:1. The curriculum focuses on developing the whole child, combining core academics with arts, languages and real‑world experiences. Students study Chinese, and French is available as a subject; ESL supports learners who need extra help. The campus provides a bus service and a broad range of after‑school activities, including chess, orchestra and swimming. The Head of HIS is Rowena Lines, and the school aims to prepare students for university admission globally.
VIS International Experimental Education in Taipei was founded in 2019. The High School site is on the National Taiwan University campus (Xing Yuan Building) near Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, with the Junior High/Elementary campus located on Roosevelt Road in Da'an District. The campus area is in central Taipei, surrounded by major cultural landmarks and university facilities.
