Dushanbe International School (DIS) is a Cambridge International School in Tajikistan for students aged 3 to 18. Established in 1997 as a joint venture between the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Shelale Educational Corporation, DIS provides a continuous Cambridge curriculum from Kindergarten through AS and A Levels. The programme begins with a play-based yet structured Kindergarten approach to literacy, numeracy, and social skills, followed by Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary, leading to Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge AS/A Levels. The school is a Cambridge Exams Centre and is the only Cambridge International Education Accredited School in Tajikistan. DIS holds CIS accreditation (since 2020; renewed 2025) and registered as a UCAS centre in 2026. A calendar of theme weeks—English, Tajik, and Russian Language Weeks; Mathematics and Science Weeks; Arts and Music Week—supports language development, arts, and experiential learning. The mission emphasizes critical thinking, global citizenship, and access to universities worldwide, abroad.
Contofield International School is an English-medium international school in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, established in 2012. The campus hosts students from Tajikistan and more than 29 nationalities in a diverse setting. The school follows a British-adapted curriculum with a strong STEM emphasis and is officially registered as a Cambridge International School, offering Cambridge IGCSE, AS Level, and A Level courses. For Grade 12, students can obtain a Canadian High School Diploma (Ontario board) through a distance-learning program with a partner Canadian school accredited by the Ontario board. Core subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, Social/Cultural Studies, Information Technology, Arts, Music, Physical Education, Dance, Drama, and Craft, with additional focus on self-identity and cultural awareness in the middle years. The school emphasizes experiential, project-based learning and regular assessments. QSI International School of Dushanbe offers an American international education for students aged 3 to 18. The program uses a mastery-based curriculum guided by Exit Outcomes across three domains—Success Orientations, Competencies, and Knowledge—with units designed for mastery and grades awarded as A, B, or P. Placement assessments in mathematics, reading, and writing determine placement, and Intensive English provides small teacher-student ratios to support language learners. AP courses are available for Secondary II–IV, supported by MAP Testing to monitor growth. The campus moved in 2022 to a two-building, four-story facility with 30 classrooms plus dedicated spaces for Art, Music, science labs, a theater, a gym, and a cafeteria for over 100, serving about 350 students and enabling future enrollment growth. The school emphasizes creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. Extracurriculars include drama and a thriving Student Council, National English Honors Society, and athletic programs such as cross country, soccer, and volleyball.
