Academic French Immersion Program (FIP) is offered. Benowa State High School is the only accredited French bilingual high school in Australia. Academic STEM Excellence is offered as part of the Excellence Programs.
The Arts Excellence Programs include Dance Excellence, Drama Excellence, Music Excellence and Visual Art Excellence.

Approximately 40 clubs, councils and communities are available outside the academic curriculum. Examples include Basketball, E-Sports, Skipping, Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, Yoga, Zumba, Running, Mini-tennis and Girls'/Boys' fitness; cultural activities include AUSLAN, Board Games, Crochet/Knitting/Sewing, Jewelry making, Painting/Pottery, Visual Arts, Debate, Drone Racing and Poetry.
Community activities include collaboration with local groups and schools; Homework Club and subject support run for Year 7–12 students.
Junior Council provides student leadership opportunities; it aims to foster leadership potential, civic knowledge and active participation in youth issues, with selection of Years 10 and 11 students.
Sports Excellence Program offers merit-based entry for students wishing to excel in sport; a broad range of physical activities and fitness opportunities are available, including school sports and wellbeing-focused clubs.
Benowa State High School is a public secondary school on an 18‑hectare campus, with over 2,000 students in Years 7–12. Opened in 1980, it serves a diverse community drawn from 50 nationalities. The school delivers the Australian Curriculum with a bespoke framework, featuring Junior Secondary pathways and Senior Secondary program. Excellence Programs span Academic, Sport and Arts, including Academic STEM Excellence, Academic French Immersion Program (FIP), French Excellence, Dance Excellence, Drama Excellence, Music Excellence, Sports Excellence, Visual Art Excellence and Steiner Excellence; dual programs are available from 2026. Vocational Education offers certificates such as Barista and Hospitality, plus Visual Arts-Photography and Dance certificates. The campus includes a 21st‑century library and sport facilities; sport is coordinated with Gold Coast Sport Central and district events. Around 40 clubs operate across academic, cultural and wellbeing areas, with collaboration spaces to support study.
