The campus is situated in a secure, scenic area that supports extended learning beyond classroom hours. The school offers an extended campus life with a wide range of weekend activities and excursions around Europe and the Austrian Alps. For physical education and athletics, AIS-Salzburg uses the Salzburg University and Regional Sports Center, about 15 minutes from campus, a government-owned facility described as a fully equipped Olympic training center. Sports Facilities

AIS-Salzburg utilizes the Salzburg University and Regional Sports Center (RIF) for all physical education and athletics needs. The facility provides swimming, aerobics, tennis, weight lifting and training, as well as most team sports and general physical fitness. It is owned and run by the Austrian government and is a fully equipped Olympic training center located about 15 minutes from the AIS-Salzburg campus.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Weekend Activities are a key part of student life. Full-boarders choose three weekend activities, with two being healthy activities and one entertainment activity. Healthy options include hiking or skiing in the Alps, swimming at lakes, high ropes courses, canyoning, biking, dance classes, ziplining, and more. Entertainment options include movie nights, arts and crafts, no-bake activities, and backyard games. Skiing and snowboarding are a major winter component, with five ski days and one four-day excursion included in tuition for all boarders.
