English is the language of instruction during academic hours; two English and one German language courses are scheduled daily; German, Spanish, French, and Italian are offered as foreign language courses; German Language Tutorials are available as an elective; AP language courses include German Language and Culture, Spanish Language and Culture, French Language and Culture, and Italian Language and Culture.
The Summer Language Program offers intensive German or English courses for students aged 12 to 18, with three to four levels during each session and a placement assessment at the start. 2026 session dates are July 5-17, 2026; July 19-31, 2026; and August 2-14, 2026, with mix-and-match options for up to six weeks total.
AIS-Salzburg is an independent international boarding school in Salzburg, Austria, founded in 1976. It serves students in grades 7–12 with an optional post‑graduate year, and maintains a small campus culture with about 100 students at full capacity to support guidance. The school offers an American Curriculum with English instruction, and in grades 11–12 provides the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme as an option.
