Al Wisam School was founded in 2004 as an independent co‑educational school in Bahrain. In 2009 the British Cambridge curriculum was introduced, and Cambridge IGCSE examinations began in 2010. The campus expanded with Block B for the middle and high school by 2013, and Block D for the primary sections was added in 2014, providing dedicated spaces for each school phase. The school underwent QA and accreditation efforts over the years, with QQA monitoring in 2012 and the adoption of an OLIVE digital campus in 2014, while pursuing international accreditation activities that culminated in MSA candidacy and an MSA visiting team in April 2016. By 2018 the school had grown to over 1200 students from 25 nationalities and a staff of about 150.
The school community is diverse, with around 25 nationalities represented among students and staff. The campus comprises Block A (the original villa), Block B (middle and high school), and Block D (primary), with facilities including an art room, ICT laboratories, a library, and a multipurpose hall. The calendar includes events such as an Open Day for Years 2–13 and a National Day Carnival, as well as scheduled Parent‑Teacher Conferences as part of community life.
