The idea of establishing a school for the children of expatriate Bangladeshi residents in Bahrain was conceived in 1994 by patriotic Bangladeshi community members. They pursued the project under the guidance of the Bangladesh Embassy's ambassador, leading to the school receiving a license to operate as a Foreign Private Educational Institution from the Bahrain Ministry of Education on 5 August 1995. The school was registered under the sponsorship of Bangladesh Club – Bahrain and began operation in 1996 with six students in Segaya, Manama, under the first Chairman of the Managing Committee, Professor Dr Khaliqur Rahman. In 2016, a nine-member Board of Directors was formed by the Ambassador to recover the school's license and to oversee construction of a new building on its own land in A'Ali. Today the school offers both the National Curriculum of Bangladesh under the Dhaka Board and the Cambridge International Curriculum, with Cambridge introduced in 2009 and Senior Secondary added in 2013.
Bangladesh School Bahrain's community is anchored by expatriate Bangladeshi families and is supported by the Bangladesh Club – Bahrain, which sponsored the school from its early days. The school's events—captured in its gallery—include observances such as National Day, Mothers Day, Health Day and All Yellow Day, reflecting both Bangladeshi and Bahraini cultural ties. Parents and teachers collaborate through these events and ongoing interaction with school leadership. Families can engage with the school through its contact channels to participate in activities and school life.
