It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
The Canadian School Bahrain is a non-profit school founded by the Kooheji Family. It opened its doors in 2019 for Nursery to Grade 3 and is adding 1-2 grades each year toward Grade 12 in 2026. The school delivers a blended program built on the British Columbia curriculum, combined with Arabic language studies, Islamic studies, and Bahraini social studies and citizenship. It is the first BC Curriculum-certified school in Bahrain and is accredited by the British Columbia Ministry of Education. The governance includes an Executive Committee led by members such as Mrs. Mariam Al Kooheji.
CSB's community is active and civically engaged, with students participating in service projects and cross-cultural initiatives. The school hosts events such as the Space for Sustainability Fair 2025, which features broad student participation and attendance by Bahraini officials. It runs charitable and volunteer initiatives during Ramadan in collaboration with the Bahrain Trust Foundation, organized by the Hand by Hand Club and the Student Council. The Knowledge Garden provides an outdoor learning space, and CSB also facilitates cross-cultural activities such as a volunteer trip to Morocco with the Bahrain Trust Foundation.
CSB does not describe a formal Parent-Teacher Association by that name in its public materials. Parent involvement is organized through the Executive Committee, with parents participating in volunteer activities and school clubs. The Hand by Hand Club and the Student Council coordinate family volunteering, including Ramadan food drives and iftar events in partnership with the Bahrain Trust Foundation. Parents contribute to sustainability projects and events such as the Knowledge Garden and the Space for Sustainability Fair, including planning and hands-on involvement. The school has hosted robotics and equestrian events with family participation, such as the VEX IQ National Robotics Championship where CSB teams won awards, and the Dressage Knights Championship which CSB sponsored. CSB reflects a collaborative approach to community life, with parent involvement integrated into governance and events even without a separately named PTA.
