The Pakistan Urdu School Bahrain was established in 1956 and is managed by a Board of Trustees. The first Urdu School for Indo-Pak origin students in the Gulf was created in March 1956, with support from Bahrain's business and commercial community and from founders including Ashraf S. Mohammadi, Saleha Raheem, Haji Asghar Ali, Abdul Rasool Malik, Sayed Akber Ali, and Dr. Mehitapwala. The medium of instruction is English for all classes. It now serves over 2000 students with around 200 staff and operates on a non-profit basis, reinvesting any surplus into school facilities.
