Uniforms are required. Winter uniforms include long-sleeved shirts with a navy blue tie, a bottle green blazer with the BIT logo, a bottle green sweater, black shoes, and white socks; White Keds are used for games. Class IV–X wear khaki long pants or culottes with a khaki shirt bearing the BIT logo, and a navy blue tie; a bottle green blazer, and black or white shoes. Class XI–XII wear sky blue kameez with white salwar and white dupatta for girls, and a white shirt with khaki pants for boys; winter and summer variants apply.
There is a cafeteria for break and lunch periods; Tiffin is encouraged with dry finger foods such as fruit, cake, sandwiches, etc.
A house system exists; Gulshan campus lists a House named N.E.L. (6) and house assignments appear for different sections across campuses.
Bangladesh International Tutorial is privately run, established in 1983, with two campuses in Uttara and Gulshan. Leadership is referred to as Headmaster/mistress.
