Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

LFIA offers after-school activities for all pupils; participation is optional but highly recommended. Activities run over 30 to 32 weeks outside school time, from 3:45 pm to 5:45 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The program includes Robotics and Coding, Introduction to Software Engineering, Aspiring Scientists, Creation of Videos, and Introduction to Spanish, Cooking, and the LFIA Journal creation. New Digital Creation Workshops provide programming, video game design, and website creation on Wednesdays, in collaboration with the Cultural Service of the French Embassy.

Arts and Creative

Arts and cultural activities are offered as after-school options. The schedule includes Chess, Fine Arts, and Theatre in English and French, plus Contemporary Dance, Gymnastics and Robotics and Coding. The program also offers Introduction to the Violin, Multisport, Yoga, Introduction to Sewing, Creation of Videos, and the LFIA Journal.

Cultural and Language

From the age of 8 onwards, LFIA pupils study three languages—French (13 hours), English (10 hours) and Dutch (3 hours) in primary, providing immersion in French and English with Dutch introduced. Spanish is introduced in junior high (4th year) and taught through the 6th form, so by age twelve pupils study four modern languages. Non-French or non-English speaking pupils receive Passerelle support during initial language immersion.

Social and Hobbies

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Study & Daycare provides morning care from 7:45 am and day care until 5:45 pm on selected days. The After School Club offers a range of cultural, artistic and sporting activities after the school day, promoting development and open-mindedness. Sports and fitness options include Multisport, Gymnastics and Yoga, while Cooking is also offered as an after-school activity.

The Lycée Français International d'Anvers (LFIA) is a French international school serving learners from age 2 to 18. Located in Antwerp's historic city centre, the campus spans about 1,200 m² and welcomes around 150 students from more than 30 nationalities. LFIA follows the French national curriculum, with primary lessons taught in French (13 hours), English (10 hours) and Dutch (3 hours), creating immersion in French and English. From age 8, students study four modern languages, and from the fourth year of junior high Spanish is added, culminating in the French Baccalauréat. Passerelle support assists non-French or non-English speakers during language immersion. The school is part of the Odyssey Education group and a partner of AEFE. Facilities and activities include day care and after-school clubs, multilingual holiday camps, and a broad range of arts, sports and STEM offerings. All of this takes place within an international and multilingual framework for families.
