French is the language of instruction, with pupils following the official French curriculum and preparing for the DNB and Baccalauréat. Language instruction begins from age two-and-a-half, and LFJM offers three pathways: Classic, European, and International. English is taught to all students; from 6th grade, LVA is English, and LVB options include German, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, or Dutch depending on the pathway. The school supports bilingual/bicultural education through its British and German International Sections and its European Section, with IGCSE offered in Seconde and BF International in Première/Terminale, including English-language content and DNL in English.
The LFJM provides three language pathways: the Classic Section, the German International Section, and the British International Section. The International Section is a distinct group, and pupils enrolled there share history-geography and language & literature classes. Access to the International Section is by admission test.
English is mandatory for all pupils. From 6th grade, English can be taken as LVA, and if English is chosen for LVA, LVB can be German, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, or Dutch depending on the pathway. At lycée level, sections include the European Section, the International Section, and the Classic Section, with English-language elements such as DNL in English and history-geography taught in English in the European/International tracks. The IGCSE is prepared in 2nde (and 3ème), and BF International is pursued in 1ère/Terminale with English-language components and DNL in English.
Located in Brussels, Lycée Français Jean Monnet is part of the AEFE network and serves pupils from age 2 to 18 across two campuses. The school follows the official French curriculum and prepares students for the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) and the Baccalauréat, offering four Bac options: conventional, European, British international and German international. Pupils can personalise their education through a wide range of pathways and elective subjects, with six modern languages taught from early childhood. The school welcomes 2,650 pupils from over 50 nationalities and provides facilities, including a Centre de Documentation et d'Information (CDI) with 20,000 titles, dining overseen by a dietitian and nurse, and spaces for group work and exhibitions. Cogni'Classe supports learning with neuroscience-informed strategies, and orientation services assist families with higher education planning. Extracurricular life includes MUN, Cine-club, theatre, Manga Club, Red Cross and Amnesty groups, and sport through the Association Sportive from 6e to Terminale.
