Tutti Frutti is a multilingual school founded in 1997 in Brussels, combining language learning with a lively, open pedagogy. The ASBL Tutti Frutti was created to cater to children aged 3 to 11 in extracurricular workshops and courses. In 2000, Tutti Frutti received the European Language Label, and in 2003 Tutti Frutti opened its first French-English bilingual kindergarten class, later adding sections French-German, French-Italian and French-Dutch. Tutti Frutti Primaire opened its first French-English bilingual primary class in 2018, and by 2019 two primary sections—French-German and French-English—were in operation.
Tutti Frutti is located in Saint-Gilles, Brussels, a multicultural area with about 130 nationalities represented. Outings to theaters, museums, parks and swimming pools are integral to Tutti Frutti's educational project. The teaching team is diverse, with native speakers and training provided by Tutti Frutti, and the organization regularly hosts conferences and workshops on childhood, education, pedagogy and languages. The school partners with local organizations, such as Flic Flac Dance, and offers yoga classes for students.
Tutti Frutti Primary is a private, non-subsidized ASBL in Belgium that combines language learning with an active, open pedagogy. The elementary program is organized into three bilingual sections: French-English, French-German, and French-Italian, with an average of about 12 students per class. Immersion is achieved through exposure to two or three languages, and the curriculum emphasizes explicit reading, writing and mathematics alongside multi-disciplinary, multi-sensory, creative activities. Instruction uses lively, participatory, differentiated methods and practical tasks such as cooking workshops to foster autonomy. Children are registered with the Vlaamse Gemeenschap, and at the end of the sixth year take tests in French to obtain the CEB. The school operates across several premises in Saint-Gilles and Uccle, and offers weekly language workshops plus a range of arts, cultural and wellbeing activities. Extracurriculars include Dance & Folklore, Creative Workshop and language sessions, with small groups and a modular program including inclusive activities for all.
