Bloom accompanies children from early childhood to mid-adolescence. The school emphasizes that students lead the educational process, following their natural urge to learn. The specially prepared environment supports their organic growth and the development of values, skills and competences that ensure their success in life. Bloom follows the Montessori approach, including work cycles and a mix of group presentations and individual work.
English is the main language of instruction, and Bosnian is a primary secondary language. Staff are fluent in both English and Bosnian, creating a comfortable learning environment for students who might be learning one of the two. Bloom students have the option to learn German or French as their secondary language. Bloom teaches the official Sarajevo Canton curriculum using the Montessori approach.
Student Corner showcases the projects and achievements of Bloom students, with weekly updates. For International Mother Language Day 2024, some students created educational pamphlets about the languages spoken at Bloom. A Bloom student won first place in a Physics Competition.
Bloom Earth is a pillar of holistic education that fosters a strong awareness and relationship with nature. Bloom is located in Hrid, Sarajevo, at the base of Trebević, with a landscape that includes a cherry tree forest and a nearby bee farm. Students engage in hands-on experiences in garden cultivation, farming, planting, forest management and wood-working, connected to the official curriculum. The Earth philosophy is woven into daily practice to foster self-discovery and help students become creative contributors to society, with respect for the environment, others and themselves.
Group Coordinators are at the heart of Bloom: they ensure the implementation of Bloom's vision in the classroom and facilitate meaningful interactions between the different age groups. They are important points of contact for parents. Maëlys de Rudder leads the Children's House, and Naida Tokača, Nina Bulajić and Amar Muhić coordinate the Primary levels P1–P3, with other staff visible on the coordinator roster.
At Bloom, health and happiness are prerequisites for learning. Bloom Earth is woven into the curriculum as a nature-based learning philosophy; Bloom Nutrition provides fresh foods, clean drinking water, and a weekly menu aligned with WHO guidelines, with food included in tuition; Bloom Movement uses natural movement classes led by a MovNat educator; Bloom Love Yourself fosters ongoing discussions of self-love to create caring spaces.
