To enter Form One, Botswana students should normally have completed the National Primary School Leaving Exam (PSLE). Candidates who demonstrate an equivalent academic standard may be accepted. Applicants to all forms must sit and pass an entrance examination. To sit the examination, the Application Form must be completed and the registration fee paid (P400.00). A copy of the birth certificate, passport and the latest Student Report from the candidate's current school should be submitted along with the completed Application Form. Progression through the Academy is based on merit. The development levy is a one-off non-refundable payment. Incoming Form 6 (AS and A2) students are exempt from the levy, but are required to pay a refundable security deposit (P6000.00). Fees are payable in advance three working days before the opening day of each term, and late payment incurs penalties (P100 during the two working days before opening day, P200 in the first week of the term and P400 after the first week). If an A-level (AS/A2) student withdraws during the course the parent/guardian is still liable for the total course fee. Places may be forfeited if fees are unpaid by the FIRST DAY of the term, unless prior arrangements have been made with management. When withdrawing a student, one term's notice is required or one term's fee in lieu of notice. The Academy provides its students with textbooks at no additional cost; students are accountable for any loss or excessive damage to books or other school properties.
