1. Online Registration. New families complete the online application by registering a new family, and you must use School ID 4004 when prompted. Registration is confirmed via the email you receive after submitting. 2. Assessments and Interviews. Placement tests are required: under 6 years old receive an in-person assessment, while 6 years and older take a computer-based MAP test that covers language and math. Additional English testing may be required for non-native speakers. Interviews may be required for students, including an interview with the School Director and an interview with the Finance Director. 3. Application Checklist. The checklist requires a completed online enrollment application, placement test/assessment results, and interviews with both the School Director and the Finance Director, plus payment of the application fee. 4. Required Documents. Uploads should include the student's passport, ID, or birth certificate; parents' passports or IDs; most recent report cards or transcripts; applicable testing and evaluation results (e.g., MAP scores, IEP reports); vaccination records and blood type information; a digital photo of the student; and any confidential forms (Special Services Form or Recommendation Form) if applicable. 5. Additional Information. Age and potty-training requirements are as follows: ELC at least 3 years old, Pre-K at least 4, Kindergarten at least 5, all with potty training by September 1. Grade placements are determined by the School Director and Admissions Team after reviewing assessments and school records. For students entering grades 9–12, a guidance counselor will assess transfer credits for graduation requirements. The BIS school year follows the US calendar, with Semester 1 August–December and Semester 2 January–June. The school provides equal educational opportunities regardless of ethnic, national, or other backgrounds.
Brasilia International School (BIS) is an international Christian school founded in 1998 to serve international community. It offers a North American education delivered in English, blending the American Educators Reach Out standards with Biblical worldview integration. The elementary program (Pre-K to Grade 6) provides English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Bible, Music, Physical Education, and Art, emphasizing group learning, STEM projects, and Kingdom Seekers social-emotional learning.
