The school teaches in English and follows a North American–style education. The curriculum includes English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Bible, Music, Physical Education, and Art. In Elementary, students participate in group learning and STEM projects through a Biblical perspective. Secondary students receive guidance counseling for college preparation and future planning, and may take AP or Dual Enrollment courses via NorthStar Academy, earning an American diploma.
Music and Art are part of the Elementary program. Physical Education is also included in Elementary. The arts are integrated within BIS's English-language, North American–style curriculum.
Guidance counseling helps students with course selection, college preparation, and future planning. Students in grades 9–12 may add courses through NorthStar Academy, which offers nearly 200 courses including AP and Dual Enrollment for college credit.
The programs at BIS develop intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Weekly chapel sessions teach Biblical applications across subjects. Kingdom Seekers provides Social/Emotional Learning for Elementary students. BIS emphasizes a safe, structured, caring environment that helps students gain life skills to become contributing leaders.
Brasilia International School (BIS) is an international Christian school founded in 1998 to serve international community. It offers a North American education delivered in English, blending the American Educators Reach Out standards with Biblical worldview integration. The elementary program (Pre-K to Grade 6) provides English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Bible, Music, Physical Education, and Art, emphasizing group learning, STEM projects, and Kingdom Seekers social-emotional learning. In secondary Grades 7–12, BIS emphasizes individualized guidance, course selection, and college preparation, with access to online NorthStar Academy courses that include AP and Dual Enrollment, enabling students to earn college credit while still in high school and graduate with an American diploma.
