English as an Additional Language (EAL)

English-language instruction is provided in a North American style. Additional English testing may be required for non-native speakers. Brasilia International School (BIS) is an international Christian school founded in 1998 to serve international community. It offers a North American education delivered in English, blending the American Educators Reach Out standards with Biblical worldview integration. The elementary program (Pre-K to Grade 6) provides English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Bible, Music, Physical Education, and Art, emphasizing group learning, STEM projects, and Kingdom Seekers social-emotional learning. In secondary Grades 7–12, BIS emphasizes individualized guidance, course selection, and college preparation, with access to online NorthStar Academy courses that include AP and Dual Enrollment, enabling students to earn college credit while still in high school and graduate with an American diploma. The school is non-denominational and a member of the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS). BIS supports intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual development in a safe, structured environment, preparing graduates for study in the United States, Canada, England, and beyond.
