The Escola Chinesa Internacional is the first international Chinese school outside China. It was conceived by the general director and founder Prof. Yuan Aiping. It welcomes children of Chinese and non-Chinese nationalities from age one and offers daily tri-lingual immersion in Mandarin, Portuguese and English. The objective is to provide an internationally benchmarked education in Brazil following the model of China's basic education to reveal exceptional talents in a tri-lingual environment, supported by partnerships with prestigious Chinese institutions that enable international exchanges and teacher training. The school is maintained by the Associação Chinesa de Educação and is located at Rua São Clemente, 379, Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.
Extracurricular activities expand learning beyond the standard curriculum. Mandarin immersion programs run for infants and for elementary students three times per week, 1 hour 30 minutes per session, with English support. Espaço Tia Maína in Botafogo hosts on-site activities including robotics, programming, dance, and sports, with instructors conducting classes at the school and after-school options available. The North Shaolin Kung Fu Association promotes kung fu classes (Portuguese and English), and Mandarin courses for parents and family are offered to deepen engagement with the community.
