The Escola Internacional Nova Geração (EING) was founded in December 2003 when educator and teacher Cida Rix hosted a reception to announce the realization of a dream. The school began in Guarujá, SP, offering the first and only bilingual preschool in the municipality. In 2007, EING moved to a new address and began offering programs from Early Childhood to Ensino Fundamental II. After some time the school also began serving Nursery and High School, completing the Basic Education cycle. The Escola Internacional Nova Geração became the only and most complete bilingual school on the São Paulo coast, and, due to its success and growth, launched a franchising project to bring the same quality of education to other municipalities and encourage entrepreneurs to invest in this expanding sector in Brazil.
Formation of Character is the school's main project. The method, materials, and conduct of educators and all staff guide the integrated work of 40 character traits such as responsibility, honesty, and respect, naturally and effectively helping to build the character of students together with the family. The Project Traços de Caráter serves Early Childhood and Elementary Education and is applied weekly. It focuses on: using character traits as themes for school actions (e.g., being kind, honest, friendly, tolerant); encouraging families to discuss the relevance of the trait at home and to develop it; awakening citizenship through practical actions; contextualizing the week's theme within school life and extracurricular activities; prompting changes in behavior; encouraging good social and family coexistence and critical thinking; turning rules of conduct into daily practices in school and at home. Activities include presenting the trait at the start of the week through stories and practical examples, discussing relevance and application, and notifying families via the school agenda; daily practice of the trait through concrete actions. The school also runs the OMEING Mathematics Olympiad, and the Mostra Cultural Eing (Cultural and Scientific Show) to engage students and the wider school community. The OMEING Olympiad aims to stimulate mathematical study, influence teaching improvement, and identify young talents; it is held annually in six levels with two phases (multiple-choice first, then a problem-solving phase). The Mostra Cultural Eing takes place in the second semester of the school year and involves the Infantil, Fundamental 1 and 2, and High School levels, with student-led presentations and exhibitions open to the school community.
