Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

The school participates in Concordia 2025, a festival for AEFE South America network schools that highlights actions to improve the school climate, strengthen cooperation, and encourage daily wellbeing. Projects are carried out by students, teachers, and the entire educational team, promoting respect, listening, and collaboration. The experience emphasizes living together and a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Arts and Creative

The school has Web Radio Molière. A new Web Radio was created, run by students under supervision. The Lièrmo is a school newspaper created entirely by Lycée Molière students.

Cultural and Language

Rencontres interculturelles are intercultural encounters. Tellus Intercultural Workshops were held at the Lycée Molière. These workshops gave parents a space to exchange views to improve perceptions and understanding of other cultures present at the school. A participant testified that the workshop was thoughtfully designed and well led, enabling participants to use simple tools to evaluate intercultural experiences and cope with differences without hasty judgments.

Social and Hobbies

The Book Festival (Festival du Livre) is back at the Lycée Molière. Silence on lit! is a reading initiative, now in its fifth edition. The lycée also marks class photo days and other student-centered events as part of school life.

Community and Service

Concordia promotes a climate of living together, solidarity, and the wellbeing of all members of the school community. Intercultural workshops also foster community and cultural exchange within the school. The school engages with its broader AEFE community through these activities.

Leadership and Professional

Student leadership is organized through several bodies, including the CVL (Conseil de la Vie Lycéenne) and the student council. The school also maintains governance structures such as the Conseil d'établissement and the Conseil d'école, with involvement from elected student representatives.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Extracurricular activities run from 14:00 to 16:00, with a daycare service from 16:00 to 18:00 for kindergarten and primary. These activities complement regular classes and align with the school project and pedagogical objectives. The school participates in events such as the Semaine des Lycée Français du Monde (Week of French-Language Schools around the World). The Book Festival and Silence on lit! contribute to literacy and cultural engagement across the school community.

Lycée Molière is a French international school in Rio de Janeiro, part of the AEFE network and administered by the Brazilian non‑profit SFBE. Founded in 1982, it serves about 880 students from early years through Terminale (ages 2–17). Instruction follows the French Ministry of National Education programs from preschool to the Baccalaureate, with the BFI since 2022, enabling bilingual, trilingual or quadrilingual pathways and an international‑partner project. AEFE supports teaching Portuguese as the host language alongside French, with FLE and PLE for non‑Francophone learners. The school operates on two campuses: the Pereira da Silva site for younger pupils and a newer Flamengo building for lycéens. Facilities include libraries, a theatre, modern science laboratories, a music and arts room, a pedagogical garden, a covered sports court, abundant IT resources and an on‑site restaurant run by a French chef. Extracurriculars feature a student web radio, Lièrmo newspaper, intercultural workshops, the Concordia 2025 festival, and a Book Festival.
