Facilities Overview

The Victor Hugo School in Sofia welcomes more than 800 pupils from nursery to the final year and is approved by the French Ministry of Education as part of the AEFE network, under supervision of the Embassy of France in Sofia. The Centre for Knowledge and Culture (3C) is a space where people and documents meet, housing a library, a database, and a librarian to support learning. The school restaurant is operated by Furisto, serving about 450 pupils daily with balanced, seasonal menus; nursery and early primary meals are eaten at tables, while middle and high school meals are served in self-service. Extracurricular activities are offered through clubs, and a sports association provides sports such as badminton, climbing, basketball, and tennis with activities at the school gymnasium or NSA.

Sports Facilities

The SA LVH offers activities including badminton at the school gymnasium. Escalade takes place at NSA. Basketball and tennis are offered (basketball at the school gymnasium; tennis at NSA). Participation requires a parental authorization and a yearly subscription of 100 leva; transportation is not included.

Academic Facilities

The Centre for Knowledge and Culture is an educational and informational project focused on space for information and mediation; it combines a library, a database, and a CCC. A school librarian coordinates a wide range of resources to support information literacy. Language instruction includes a pilot language program integrating French as the host-country language for all students and encouraging English and other international languages. The 3C space is designed to empower student autonomy and collaboration, personalizing guidance and enabling new educational activities.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The school offers extracurricular activities to promote development, intellectual curiosity, and enjoyment of learning. Extracurricular activities include clubs that enhance learning outside class. The Sports Association of the French School Victor Hugo (SA LVH) provides badminton, climbing, basketball, and tennis.
