ALIS provides a full international program with English immersion through an American curriculum. A government-approved Khmer program is offered, and Chinese is taught, making ALIS a tri-lingual school. The ALIS high school international program diploma is equivalent to the US High School Diploma. Taking the SAT is a high school requirement, reflecting English-language proficiency typical of English-language schools.
The Art Program was designed exclusively for ALIS by Rev. Mary Ann Mauti and aims to inspire creativity, build self-confidence, and develop fine motor skills and mental perception. Drama includes on-stage performances, piano and guitar recitals, and speech tournaments. The Music Program lets students study either piano or guitar, with a program to read and understand written music.
The school is international in character with courses taught in English, Khmer and Chinese. The Khmer program follows government graduation requirements, and Chinese is offered as a third language starting at K-4. English is the primary language used in the International Curriculum.
ALIS has its own basketball teams, the ALIS KINGS, with separate girls' and boys' teams that compete locally and abroad. Taekwondo is offered as a sport to strengthen students physically and mentally. The Swimming program follows national and international standards, with regular local and international competitions and an annual ALIS swimming meet. Drama and Dance are also part of the activities, providing on-stage performance opportunities.
ALIS emphasizes camping and cooperative group activities, including community service work, to build self-confidence and leadership. Camping is held annually for students starting from grade 4 to develop independence and leadership qualities.
The Speech Competition is an annual program designed to strengthen students' confidence and public speaking skills. ALIS also organizes events that require students to perform on stage, fostering leadership and communication abilities.
Sports and physical activities are a central part of life at ALIS, with programs in swimming, basketball, and Taekwondo. Regular athletic competitions and the emphasis on outdoor and competitive activities support physical and mental well-being. Camping also contributes to personal development and resilience.
