The school was established in 2006 and operates as Phnom Penh's bilingual school offering affordable education. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and offers Nursery through Grade 12. The Cambridge International curriculum is taught in Secondary, alongside local and international programs. The school provides access to multiple curricula including the Khmer National Curriculum (MOEYS), the International Primary Curriculum, and the International Middle Years Curriculum.
In Primary, students become fluent in English and Khmer, with literacy in both languages emphasized. In Secondary, the Cambridge International curriculum serves both first-language English speakers and English-language learners. The school has more than 25 nationalities among students and staff, reflecting its multilingual, international community.
East-West International School (EWIS) opened in 2006 and is located in the Boeung Keng Kang 3 (BKK3) neighbourhood of central Phnom Penh. The school runs a bilingual English–Khmer program from Nursery through Grade 12 and is registered with Cambodia's Ministry of Education and accredited by WASC. The campus includes primary, secondary and early years departments, science labs, music and art rooms, a STEAM centre, an assembly hall, a swimming pool and sports courts. EWIS offers the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level pathways alongside the Khmer national curriculum, and compulsory activities such as swimming in primary and middle years are part of the weekly timetable.
