East-West International School was established in 2006 and operates as a privately governed bilingual school. The school holds accreditation with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS). Governance is by a school board that includes the school owner, representatives of NTC (the parent company), the founding principal Sandra Chipps, the current Head of School, and external members. These governance and accreditation details are published on the school website.
The school describes a bilingual (English/Khmer) community with students and staff from more than 25 nationalities and regular school communications such as a weekly community update and the student newspaper “Thunder Times.” School-run events include seasonal community activities (for example, a Back‑to‑School Afternoon) and an active extra‑curricular program across sports, arts and student leadership. Athletics participation includes membership in a local inter-school sports league (PPAC8), and the school also runs student programs such as Model UN and annual House Games.
East-West International School (EWIS) opened in 2006 and is located in the Boeung Keng Kang 3 (BKK3) neighbourhood of central Phnom Penh. The school runs a bilingual English–Khmer program from Nursery through Grade 12 and is registered with Cambodia's Ministry of Education and accredited by WASC. The campus includes primary, secondary and early years departments, science labs, music and art rooms, a STEAM centre, an assembly hall, a swimming pool and sports courts. EWIS offers the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level pathways alongside the Khmer national curriculum, and compulsory activities such as swimming in primary and middle years are part of the weekly timetable.
