Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
Based on the school's own website, the following accreditations / formal recognitions are listed:
- Accrediting Commission for Schools — Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC): East‑West was granted a six‑year WASC accreditation in 2013. ACS WASC is one of the regional U.S. school accrediting agencies; its role is to evaluate schools against agreed standards, support ongoing school improvement, and help validate programs and transcripts for transfer and university recognition.
- Registered with Cambodia's Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MOEYS) for the Khmer National Curriculum: the website states East‑West delivers the Khmer National Curriculum “approved by the MOEYS,” which indicates the school is authorised to teach the national curriculum and to register students for Cambodia's national examinations.
- Provider of Cambridge International examinations (CIE — IGCSE, AS and A Levels): the site states the school “offers courses and exams under the Cambridge International Exams (CIE) IGCSE and Advanced Levels,” which shows it runs Cambridge qualifications used for international university entry and recognised by many institutions worldwide. (This is a statement of what the school offers as listed on its site.)
- Membership in the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS): the website notes East‑West is a member of EARCOS. EARCOS is a regional professional membership organisation for schools and educators in East Asia; membership is an institutional affiliation that provides networking, professional development, and peer connections (it is a membership/affiliation rather than an accreditation).
East-West International School (EWIS) opened in 2006 and is located in the Boeung Keng Kang 3 (BKK3) neighbourhood of central Phnom Penh. The school runs a bilingual English–Khmer program from Nursery through Grade 12 and is registered with Cambodia's Ministry of Education and accredited by WASC. The campus includes primary, secondary and early years departments, science labs, music and art rooms, a STEAM centre, an assembly hall, a swimming pool and sports courts. EWIS offers the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level pathways alongside the Khmer national curriculum, and compulsory activities such as swimming in primary and middle years are part of the weekly timetable.
