Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Enquiry. Start by contacting ICS International School to gain information about the school, programs, and admissions options. The admissions team provides responses to questions about the school and can help you plan the next steps. The minimum age requirements for each grade apply and must be met by 1 September of the academic year (Nursery 2.5 years; Kindergarten 3.5–5 years; Primary 6–11 years; Secondary 12–17 years).

2. Campus Visit. Arrange and attend a campus visit to explore the facilities and meet the admissions team. The visit gives you a chance to observe classrooms, learn about the environment, and ask about how the school supports student needs. You should use this time to discuss any specific programs or support services your child may require.

3. Placement Test. Your child will undertake assessments in English and Mathematics, with a Khmer assessment for primary and secondary students, to help determine the appropriate placement. The results, along with age and background, inform the initial placement decisions. This step ensures that the curriculum level aligns with your child's current abilities.

4. Assessment & Interview. A meeting with your child and with you, the parents, is conducted to understand your child's needs, goals, and learning context. This discussion complements the test results to guide placement and support planning. The interview helps the school gauge fit and discuss any accommodations or program options.

5. Application Form. Complete and submit the formal application form, along with the documents outlined in the Admission Checklist. The checklist includes items such as recent photographs, birth certificate, school reports, and transfer letters where applicable. Ensure all requested documents are prepared to avoid delays.

6. Application Review. The admissions team reviews the application and supporting documents carefully before a decision is made. This review considers test results, interview impressions, and alignment with placement goals. You may be contacted for any additional information if needed.

7. Payment of School Fees. Once admission is confirmed, you will pay the school fees according to the published fee structure. The exact figures and structure are provided to families who receive an admission offer. This payment completes the enrollment, securing the place for your child.

8. Learning Resource Collection. Upon enrollment, you will collect the learning resources, including textbooks and materials. The Admission Checklist specifies items such as 3 recent photographs of the student, birth certificate copy, school reports, and parent photos for collection cards. Collecting these resources completes the onboarding for the new student.

Waitlist

ICSIS does not publish a formal waitlist or pool system. The admissions policy states that admissions are open year-round, and applications are reviewed continuously, indicating that space availability governs placement rather than a defined waitlist. There is no published waitlist process on the site.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

ICSIS operates a Study Abroad & Scholarship Centre (SASC), which offers scholarship programmes to support students pursuing higher education opportunities abroad. The SASC page explicitly lists “Scholarship Programmes” as part of its service portfolio, indicating formal scholarship offerings exist through the centre. Specific eligibility criteria, application procedures, and scholarship amounts are not published on the site; interested families should contact the SASC for details. In addition, promotional opportunities have appeared in press (e.g., early enrollment promotions) that have, in some years, offered discounts on enrollment and tuition for early applicants.

ICS International School (ICSIS) operates from two campuses in Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh: the Main Campus at 14, Street 214, and the Calmette Campus at 25A, Street 75 (Corner of Street 80). The school opened in 2005 and is a Cambridge International Centre (KH008). Nursery and Kindergarten programmes follow the Singapore Curriculum and the Cambridge English Teaching Framework, with most instruction delivered in English and Khmer studied as needed. Primary education uses the Cambridge Primary Programme alongside the national curriculum. The Secondary & High School Programme (Grades 7–12) provides a bilingual pathway that combines the Cambridge International Curriculum (Lower Secondary/IGCSE, AS & A Levels) with the MoEYS Cambodian Curriculum to align local graduation requirements with international qualifications. The school emphasizes enquiry-based learning and a broad co-curricular program. The Co-Curricular Activities include Khmer Language and Mandarin Language, plus swimming and other sports. All Kindergarten and Primary classes are taught in English except Khmer studies. Khmer and Mandarin are also offered as languages within the curriculum.
