Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

ICS Group, founded in 1993 as a Cambodian-Singaporean venture, began with the Information Computer School, Cambodia's first IT training center. In 1999, an English Language Institute was added, and in 2005 ICS International School opened to provide affordable, international education. ICSIS holds Cambridge International Centre status (KH008), enabling Cambridge qualifications to be offered in Cambodia. Milestones include Cambridge accreditation in 2009, the Calmette Campus opening in 2015, and the ICS Tower campus opening in 2019, reflecting a shift from IT training to a full Cambridge pathway school. These developments show the school's evolution into an international education provider with a multidecade history.

Community

ICSIS maintains a diverse, international community with a focus on developing globally minded learners. The alumni network connects current students, graduates and staff, with ICSIS alumni progressing to universities worldwide. Community engagement includes events such as International Children's Day celebrations (June 1, 2025) and the Khmer Solidarity fundraising campaign (August 2025) to support refugees and Cambodian families. ICSIS is an official Cambridge International Centre offering Cambridge Pathways through a bilingual curriculum, linking the school to global partners.

Parent-Teacher Association

ICS International School supports parental involvement through officially designated Parent Groups described in the Parent Handbook. Parents can request meetings to discuss their child's progress or behavioural issues, demonstrating a structured channel for parent–school dialogue. The Handbook lists programs that involve families, including Student Clubs and Remedial/Student Support services, indicating active family engagement in school life. Field trips are part of the program and may involve parent participation or oversight to enrich learning beyond the classroom. Core beliefs describe education as a shared responsibility among student, family, school and community, reinforcing parent engagement. Details of programs and events are coordinated through the Director's office, with information available upon request.
