Accreditations and Awards

Recognition and credentials that demonstrate quality and excellence

Accreditations

Based only on information published on the school's website, the following formal programme approvals / accreditations and curriculum affiliations are listed for Southbridge International School Cambodia (SISC):

- Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) — Khmer General Education (KGE) accredited: SISC's Khmer General Education programme is described on the school site as “fully accredited by the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport,” which means the school's national‑curriculum pathway and its Grade 9 and Grade 12 certificates are recognised by Cambodia's government education authority for national examinations and local higher‑education entry.

- Cambridge Assessment International Education (Cambridge) — Cambridge programmes offered (Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE, AS & A Levels): SISC's website states that it offers the Cambridge pathway (Primary → Lower Secondary → IGCSE → AS/A Level). Cambridge Assessment is the international curriculum and examination board; a school offering Cambridge programmes delivers that syllabus and prepares students for Cambridge assessments. (The school site describes those Cambridge programmes and their use across the school.)

- International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) — IEYC for Early Years: the school states it uses the IEYC in its Early Years programme and describes IEYC as part of the International Curriculum Association. IEYC is an internationally used early years curriculum framework; SISC lists it as the foundation for its early years teaching.

Notes on scope and wording: I have limited this list to items explicitly stated on SISC's website. The site explicitly uses the term “accredited” for the Khmer (national) programme with MoEYS; for Cambridge and IEYC the site describes that it offers / uses those recognised international curricula. The school does not publish an explicit additional accreditation page or a separate list of external accrediting organisations on its website that I could locate (for example, international school accrediting bodies such as CIS or WASC are not listed on the school pages that I checked).

Awards and Recognition

I found no items on the school's website that are awards given to the school itself in the past five years. The site does publish many pages about student competition results and individual student medals (for example SIMOC, SASMO, World Scholar's Cup, ISOCSEA), but those are awards to individual students rather than institutional awards to SISC. Examples of student achievement posts are on the school's “Achievement & Testimony” pages. Because you asked for awards awarded to the school (not students) and only to include information publicly provided on the school website, the correct statement based on the site content is that there are no school‑level awards listed on the site within the past five years.

If you'd like, I can (a) run a broader search including external news, education directories, and press releases to look for any awards or recognitions given to SISC by outside organisations in the last five years, or (b) double‑check specific accrediting bodies (for example CIS or WASC) to see whether SISC holds those accreditations but does not list them on its website. Which would you prefer?

Southbridge International School Cambodia (SISC) is an English–Khmer bilingual day school in Borey Peng Huoth, Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh. Established in 2000, SISC offers Early Years through Secondary education using the IEYC and Cambridge pathways alongside the Cambodian (Khmer) curriculum. The school's campus includes a gymnasium, three playgrounds, swimming pools, a football field, library and computer labs; swimming, PE, music and art are scheduled classes from K1 upward. SISC runs Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge AS/A‑Level programmes in upper secondary and operates a bilingual pathway where students study in both English and Khmer; Saturday Chinese classes are available for Grades 1–10. Admissions use age-based placement (Nursery from 2½ years); the school notes separate principals for Early Years, Primary and Secondary. Extracurricular offerings currently include football, basketball, volleyball and an annual drama production; a student council and prefect system provide leadership opportunities. The school temporarily reports its school bus service as unavailable.
