It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
QSI International School of Dongguan opened in August 2004 at the request of local expatriate families and international businesses seeking an international school option in the rapidly developing Dongguan area. The school has operated for more than twenty years and has experienced multiple campus moves and facility developments within the city. QSID is part of the Quality Schools International (QSI) nonprofit network, which was established in 1991 to serve expatriate communities. QSI's senior leadership and several central services operate from headquarters in Malta, with regional and business offices supporting schools globally.
The school maintains a small, internationally mixed student body — the site notes approximately 255 students representing more than 25 nationalities. Regular school events include academic and extracurricular activities such as STEM fairs and Parent University workshops, and the school calendar and site imagery show cultural celebrations (for example Chinese New Year). The annual International Festival and other community outings also bring families together to share cultures and engage with the local area.
QSID's Parent Support Group (PSG) invites all parents to participate and works to make the school environment better for children. PSG holds monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. The PSG organizes and sponsors recurring events such as Family Fun Day (back-to-school, August), Winter Wonderland Charity Carnival (December), Book Month Book Swap (February), International Festival (March), Earth Month family farm trip (April), and a Splash Into Summer party (May). The group's stated responsibilities include enhancing communication among parents and with school staff, organizing events, assisting classroom teachers, providing curriculum enrichment, fundraising for school needs, and promoting student involvement. These activities are presented as both social and educational supports that connect families, staff, and students.
QSI International School of Dongguan (QSID) was founded in August 2004 and serves Preschool through Secondary students; the school's listed campus address is No. 8, Yuwu Commercial Street in Dongcheng District, Dongguan. QSID uses the QSI (mastery learning) curriculum implemented worldwide and describes its Secondary program as aligned with the U.S. Common Core; the Secondary program page also notes an Advanced Placement (AP) offering. The school's public pages list student enrolment figures on different pages (the homepage states “over 255 students,” while the Admissions Quick Facts lists 200), so you may wish to confirm current numbers with Admissions. QSID publishes information about its Chinese language program (Mandarin) with HSK preparation and a schedule of extracurriculars including athletics and a range of student clubs (Student Council, MUN, Beta Club, Mathematics Club, Chess, Yearbook, etc.).
