An early‑payment (“early bird”) discount is also applied in specified promotional periods; sibling, corporate and other discretionary discounts may be available in certain circumstances.
- Standard term due dates (example schedule published for the academic year): the annual tuition (or Term 1 tuition if paying termly) and the resource fee are due by 27 June; Term 2 tuition is due by 28 November; Term 3 tuition is due by 27 February. (The school bills on a three‑term cycle; mid‑term admissions are billed pro‑rata.)
- Sibling discounts: a 5% sibling discount is offered for a second child and a 10% sibling discount for a third child or more (applied in order of age, with the youngest child receiving the largest discount). Annual payment and early‑payment discounts are also specified.

Boarding / residence

- The school is a day school; there is no boarding provision and no boarding fees. Students are expected to live with a parent or legal guardian.

Other costs and charges

- Resource fee: a resource fee is charged and is payable with the annual tuition (or Term 1 if paying termly). The resource fee is invoiced separately.
- Meals and school bus: meal charges and school bus fees are additional to tuition and are billed separately; for mid‑term starters these fees are calculated on a pro‑rata basis.
- Items not covered by tuition: tuition covers daily tuition, basic stationery and general learning materials including some books and selected after‑school club activities; the tuition fee does not cover the cost of uniform, bus service, meals and some individual programmes. Occasional extra charges may apply for trips, specialist activities, external exam fees and certain optional programmes.

Refunds and withdrawal

- Cooling‑off refund: there is a 15‑day cooling‑off period after a student joins; if a parent chooses to withdraw within that period one month's tuition will be deducted and the remaining tuition fees refunded. After the cooling‑off period, the school's standard fee and refund rules apply. School Property Deposit refunds are conditional on return of school property in good condition. Assignment Fee refunds depend on the withdrawal date as set out in the School Fee policy.

Fee payment procedures and accepted methods

- Payment instructions and accepted payment methods (bank details, invoice instructions and any available payment channels) are provided to parents with the invoice and at the point of enrolment; parents receive specific payment details when they submit application/enrolment forms and on the school invoice. For mid‑term admissions the school issues pro‑rata invoices for tuition, meals and bus where applicable.

Discounts and scholarships

- The school publishes a range of discounts (early‑payment, annual payment, sibling and discretionary corporate discounts) and offers scholarships for academic, arts, music, sport and other talents; scholarship awards can include partial or full fee remission.

Admissions

Admissions

1. Rolling admissions and initial submission. SPGS International School Chengdu offers rolling admissions throughout the year. Applicants must complete and return all relevant paperwork and pay the admissions assessment fee. The application fee is 2,000 RMB per student, and a deposit of 30,000 RMB is payable on acceptance to reserve a place. A School Property Deposit of 18,000 RMB and an Assignment Fee of 12,000 RMB are also required as part of the admissions process. Copies of previous school reports are requested for all applicants.

2. Visits and open days. Families are encouraged to visit the campus and book a tour online. Annual open events are held for prospective families by appointment through the Admissions Office or online registration. Health Form, School Bus Registration Form, and Terms & Conditions are not required for admissions but will be needed later in enrolment.

3. Previous school records. Copies of previous school reports are requested for all applicants who have attended school or kindergarten. These records help staff understand the student's academic history and inform admission decisions.

4. Meeting with the Principal/Head of Junior School and student assessment. A meeting is scheduled with the Head of Junior School or Principal for both parents and child(ren). The meeting determines fit with the school's education approach and community. Every child will participate in an in-class assessment to gauge academic level, learning style, and English language proficiency.

5. Taster days. For upper Junior School and Senior School, the School may organise a ‘Taster Day' to give prospective students a sense of the learning environment and to assess potential benefit. Taster Days are conducted during term time and are subject to the School's approval.

6. Decisions. The decision to offer a place is made by the Principal or Head of Junior School, the Admissions Team, and, if relevant, the Department of English as an Additional Language (EAL). Successful applicants should demonstrate a history of appropriate behaviour and academic performance, the ability to succeed socially and academically, a willingness to work hard, and a readiness to participate in the broader CCA programme. The admissions decision is made within 5 working days of the meeting and the assessment, and all parents receive written confirmation via email. If not accepted, feedback may be given by telephone. The deadline for acceptance is 10 working days from the offer, and the enrolment fee is required on acceptance.

7. Waiting lists. The school holds waiting lists for students who have passed the application process but cannot enrol due to over-subscription. Offers are made as possible to ensure an optimal number of students each year.

8. Discounts and payment terms. Discounts include an Early Bird 5% discount for tuition paid before 9 May 2025, a 5% sibling discount for a second child in the same academic year (10% for a third child or more), and a 3% discount for annual payment versus termly payment. Corporate and consulate discounts are discretionary. All discounts are at the school's discretion.

9. Fees and general conditions. The Annual tuition fee and the annual or termly options are outlined in the School Fee Policy. The school also sets timelines for when fees are due and provides details on cooling-off and refund terms. Fluency in English is expected for enrolment (with EAL support policies in place for those who need it), and all lessons are conducted in English with Chinese taught as part of daily study. The school is a day school, and visa requirements apply as set out by local authorities. Parents accepting a place must sign the Acceptance and Enrolment Agreement and agree to the School Fee Policy.

10. Entry requirements and age placement. Age placement follows a defined schedule for Early Years through Six Form, with year levels and required ages listed in the policy. Residence arrangements for international students are specified, and the Principal may assess suitability of guardianship arrangements as part of the admission decision.

11. Enrolment mechanics. After acceptance, families proceed with enrolment and related forms, with the enrolment fee applied as part of securing the place. The admission process and fees are aligned with the policy to ensure a smooth transition for new students.

Scholarships

A range of scholarships are offered for students with particular skills or aptitudes. Scholarships of 30% are available in areas including Rosalind Franklin Academic Scholarships, Gustav Holst Music Scholarships, Rhoda Dawson Art Scholarships, Celia Johnson Drama Scholarships, and Dance and Sports Scholarships.

Waitlist

Waiting lists exist for students who have passed the application process but cannot enrol due to year-group capacity. Offers are made as capacity allows to maintain an optimal school population each year.
