Facilities Overview

It has a full range of art teaching spaces and facilities, including Art and Design Classroom, Fashion Design Classroom, Textiles Classroom, Digital Media Lab, Design and Technology Classroom and Workshop, and Multi-functional Exhibition Hall. Boarding service is available to Yew Wah students, with experienced staff supervising the boarding students and monitoring the safety of the dormitory. Academic Facilities

YWIES Shanghai Gubei offers an Art & Design Programme featuring art and design with a wide selection of optional subjects, supported by master-level faculty in professional fields and dedicated art classrooms. The programme is mainly taught in English and includes portfolio and university guidance. Based on personal learning goals, regional preferences, and academic levels, students can choose suitable pathways for further education, including combinations of art and non-art subjects with language development for destinations in the UK, US, Australia, Europe, Singapore, and Hong Kong. For Japan, the curriculum integrates the diverse art strengths of YWIES Gubei with Japanese language learning, entrance exam preparation, and university guidance. Electives include Art 1–6 (Fine Art, Graphic Communications, Fashion Design and Textiles, etc.), Digital Media and Design, Design and Technology, Music, Art Management, Art Economics, STEM options, and compulsory subjects such as Creative Arts, Future Lab, Performing Arts, Chinese Culture Study, Western Culture Study, Wellness (Physical Education & Character Education), and Artwork Integration (Portfolio).

Extra-Curricular Activities

The Creative Community Centre hosts art exhibitions, Christmas concerts, school performances, and displays of student work. It also supports staff and students collaborating on a variety of projects.
