Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school strengthens its Emotional Education and Affective Competencies program, aligned with the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence's RULER program, and is a pioneer in Colombia and worldwide in implementing RULER. The Happiness and Wellbeing program, within the Social Connection axis, promotes meaningful personal relationships and life skills through activities focused on promotion, prevention and guidance.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school has Inclusion policies. Admission of inclusion students is pursued, but if the student's special educational needs cannot be addressed by the school, admission may be denied to protect the best interests of the child. Applicants with inclusion needs must present a diagnosis from an external medical professional (dated within six months) and provide the required documentation; false information invalidates admission. Enrollment requires completing the Inclusion Characterization Form; a PIAR (Plan for Supports and Reasonable Adjustments) is used to tailor teaching and supports and is updated annually. To maintain a seat for inclusion students, the school requires good behavior, active family involvement, possible therapy or medication as prescribed by a health professional, ongoing therapeutic support, and use of appropriate supports and aids.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The school offers trilingual education in Spanish, English and Portuguese, and uses languages as tools for communication, intercultural understanding and personal and professional development.

Mental Wellbeing

The Happiness and Wellbeing Program, under the Social Connection axis, promotes meaningful relationships and friendships and develops life skills through promotion, prevention and guidance. The Orientation area supports students at different development stages and socio-familial contexts, implementing school interventions in collaboration with families.

Safeguarding

The school has a Data Protection Policy and a Comprehensive Personal Data Management Program. It maintains pathways to safeguard the rights of children and adolescents through integrated care routes, with formal reporting and protection mechanisms.
