Founded in 1960 by Benedictine monks, Colegio San Carlos is an all-boys, bilingual day school located on an urban-country campus in northern Bogotá. The institution serves approximately 1,400 students from transition through 11th grade, adhering to the Colombian national curriculum while integrating structured English instruction. Known for its focus on science and mathematics, the school maintains specialized laboratories and a robotics program to support STEM education. A distinctive feature of San Carlos is its deep-rooted athletic tradition; students actively participate in UNCOLI league competitions across various categories in sports like basketball, volleyball, and track and field. Beyond academics and athletics, the school fosters critical thinking through student-led initiatives such as the San Carlos Model United Nations (SACMUN) and the long-running school newspaper, El Sancarlista. The educational approach remains grounded in the Benedictine motto Ora et Labora (Pray and Work).
