The STEM program uses two daily blocks: Programming & Robotics and Science. STEM has dedicated classrooms with first-class equipment. Advanced Placement courses are offered. Graduates receive an American High School Diploma. All classes are taught in English.
Theme Weeks are school-wide projects that replace the regular curriculum for a week. Theme Weeks develop skills such as communication, teamwork and project management. Theme Weekends occur four times per year and involve large-scale student projects. Students present final projects to their parents.
The American Academy in Zagreb is a private international high school located in central Zagreb's Agram Office Center. The curriculum blends American and Finnish influences and is delivered in English by a diverse faculty from around the world. Students select courses across English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and World Languages, with Advanced Placement options and a dedicated STEM program introduced in 2021. Graduation requires a minimum of 67 credits (12 ELA, 9 Math, 9 Science, 9 Social Science including U.S. History, 6 World Language, 3 Physical Education and Health), with 72 credits recommended. Croatian language classes are available, and graduates earn an American High School Diploma suitable for study worldwide. The campus benefits from a modern adjacent sports center, STEM labs, and two daily blocks for Programming & Robotics and Science.
