DISZ is MINT-friendly. In the science facilities, students participate in Jugend forscht, visit the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Zagreb, and undertake internships. These experiences supplement classroom learning and develop practical scientific skills.
Extracurricular arts and creative activities include student-led social events with artistic elements. The Halloween party on November 17, 2022 featured a costume contest, a trivia quiz, face painting, music, and food. For Valentine's Day, the SMV prints cards with encouraging messages that are distributed in the school foyer; students may take a card, add a message, or write a name anonymously if they wish.
International exchange: The SMV coordinates exchanges with other German international schools in Europe and aims to revive exchanges in the 2023/24 school year to broaden intercultural experiences.
The SMV organizes social activities and events, including Halloween parties and Valentine's Day initiatives, to strengthen community and school spirit. These activities foster collaboration and social engagement among students.
Hygiene products on the girls' toilets: the SMV provides free hygiene products on the girls' toilets. The funds come from SMV-organized sales, and procurement of the products is handled by SMV; this creates an environment where basic needs are addressed without concern.
The SMV is a student council elected to represent students and improve the school. It elects a student president and deputies, and a trusted teacher supports the SMV; the SMV is responsible for organizing various projects and school festivals.
Buddy system: students who need tutoring are paired with peers who offer tutoring. Participation requires contacting the trusted teacher or signing up via Google Classroom.
