It is part of the Eurocampus Zagreb together with the French School Zagreb, and is one of five Eurocampus schools worldwide. The Eurocampus collaboration brings together both schools and the host country Croatia, with joint governance and shared projects, including language projects and examinations such as DELF and DSD. The school has been awarded the Excellent German School Abroad quality seal by the Federal President. The international staff comes from Germany, Croatia and Austria, supporting a multilingual, multicultural learning environment.
The school welcomes students from around the world with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. It emphasizes independent learning and democratic values within a culturally diverse community. The Eurocampus arrangement with the French school enables joint language work, Croatian and English instruction, shared clubs, and joint festivals and projects. Activities beyond the classroom enrich the learning experience and reflect the school's multicultural character.
There is a German School Association (Schulverein) connected with the DISZ. Parents may become members through the admissions process by selecting the option to join the German School Association on the form. Signing the admission form acknowledges the association's statutes. The statutes are published as Schulverein-Satzung.pdf, linked on the site.
