Facilities Overview

The Grammar School offers modern classrooms with central heating and air conditioning, each equipped with an interactive whiteboard and internet access. Biology, Chemistry, Science and Physics labs are upgraded to support current IGCSE and GCE syllabi and equipped with modern instruments. The Innovation Centre, established in 2015, includes the Study Area, the Innovation Lab and the Robotics Lab and supports the STEM programme with robotics and 3D printing facilities. Three fully equipped computer labs provide networked multimedia PCs, internet access and printing. The library houses a broad collection of books and a reading space; the Bookstore sells textbooks and school uniforms, while a Conference Hall hosts lectures and exhibitions. The campus also includes a First-Aid Station, a gym and extensive PE facilities, plus two swimming pools, a Music Room, an Art Room and canteens with vending machines.

Sports Facilities

PE Facilities include 3 futsal courts that can be opened up to a full-sized pitch, a 6-lane 300-metre track, 2 basketball courts, 2 volleyball courts, 1 handball court, 2 tennis courts, 1 fully equipped PE classroom and 1 fully equipped gym, plus a competition-sized pool. The futsal courts have artificial grass for year-round use and can be configured for 9-a-side matches. The track is six-lane with a 300-metre circuit and a weatherproof surface. The Swimming Pools comprise a competition-sized pool and a children's pool; the pool area includes a kitchen and a bar, changing rooms with showers, and it hosts morning training and swimming galas. The gym houses a range of equipment including rowing machines, spin bikes and free weights and is available to student-athletes under supervision.

The Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Science labs are Edexcel/IGCSE/GCE-ready and equipped with instruments such as microscopes, incubators and colorimeters. The Innovation Centre, established in 2015, includes the Study Area, the Innovation Lab and the Robotics Lab, with robotics and 3D printing and other STEM technology. There are three computer labs fitted with interactive whiteboards, networked PCs and internet access. The Library houses a large collection of books and is complemented by The Bookstore, which stocks textbooks and uniforms, while the Conference Hall hosts educational events and exhibitions.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The Grammar School Nicosia offers a diverse range of clubs and extracurricular activities for the 2025–2026 academic year, including Animal Planet Club, English Reading Club, Youth Quest Club and Car Enthusiasts Club. Other clubs cover science, mathematics, debate and international programmes, such as the Science Club, Erasmus+, Mooting, Euromath, Your World Video Competition and the GS Robotics Academy, as well as the Computers Club with Microsoft Office Specialist certification. Cultural societies include Music Club and Greek Theatre Club; educational programmes include debates, exhibitions, and other competitions. Club registration and participation are coordinated via the GS Announcements Hub on Microsoft Teams, school bulletins, and direct by club leaders, with after-school meetings and transport arrangements as needed.

The Grammar School Nicosia is a day school in Cyprus that also serves as a GCE examination centre. It offers a seven-year curriculum culminating in the Apolytirion alongside Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A Level examinations.
