The Heritage Private School began in 1987 in Moni, a village near Limassol, with six pupils. It moved to the centre of Limassol in 1988 as the community grew, and in 1989 the UK National Curriculum was introduced and a Kindergarten for two‑year‑olds was created. Through the 1990s the school expanded with new buildings and land acquisitions to accommodate growing numbers, including a 4.5 donums site purchased in 1994 for a new school. In 2012 the school celebrated its 25th anniversary, the new Early Years School was completed, and in 2014 the Heritage Multifunction Hall opened.
The Heritage Private School has a multicultural community with 55 nationalities represented and an international dimension in the curriculum. It fosters social responsibility and environmental awareness, with 11 CY GPP environmental awards and EMAS and ISO 14001 accreditation. The school also hosts community and cultural events that involve students, parents and staff, such as the Greek‑themed performance Μικρή Πατρίδα commemorating Cyprus history and annual events like Fireworks Night and Carnival @ Heritage.
Volunteering forms a central part of school life, with a program that involves students, staff and parents in community activities, including support for the Anti‑Cancer Society, The Theotokos Foundation, the Red Cross, and local tree‑planting. Parents and families also participate in school events such as Carnival @ Heritage and Special Greek Assembly. The school communicates with parents through a Parent Portal and a Parent App. The school also hosts EducationUSA presentations for guidance on higher education.
