AIA is essentially an English-speaking school. French is offered as the Immersion option in the Primary Years and as French Acquisition in the Middle Years. Arabic is taught as a language in addition to English and French. English language support is provided through English as an Additional Language (EAL) lessons and French as an Additional Language (FAL) lessons.
AIA offers bilingual education with two Primary Years sections: English and French Immersion. In the English section, the language of instruction is English, with Arabic lessons and French as an additional language. In the French Immersion section, instruction is delivered in French, with Arabic and English provided as additional language support (EAL/FAL). In Middle Years, most lessons are in English, with French Acquisition and Arabic also taught.
French Immersion at AIA is a language immersion program designed to develop multilingual proficiency. This pathway supports bilingual development across the Primary and Middle Years.
Alexandria International Academy is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. In the PYP, instruction is delivered in English, French and Arabic within the Programme of Inquiry, with Arts (Music, Visual Art and Drama) integrated across subjects. The MYP uses interdisciplinary, English-based learning, with French Acquisition and Arabic as additional languages, through collaborative planning with teachers and families. The Diploma Programme is a two-year high school program leading to final Examinations recognized by universities worldwide. The school is English-speaking with a French Immersion option in the Primary Years; in the Middle Years, most lessons are in English, with French Acquisition and Arabic. The Programme of Inquiry includes English, French and Arabic. Students participate in the Student Council, Book Week and Sports Day, and community initiatives like the EEP Run supporting Gaza, with leadership and wellbeing woven into school life for all students.
