The school is a German international school in Cairo offering Kindergarten, primary school and grammar school, located on Mohamed Mahmoud Street in Bab El Louk; the Konvent der Borromäerinnen in Maadi is associated with the school. A Mensa (canteen) operates on site with defined opening hours and rules; Busbetrieb provides bus services, overseen by Busleiter Ahmed Essam. The Schulklinik (school clinic) provides first aid, treatment of minor illnesses, annual health checks, and vision and growth screenings; the clinic is run by two physicians and supported by local Egyptian pediatricians, with medical rooms and a basic pharmacy. The library serves all levels with about 8,500 books in German, Arabic, English and French, including a Belletristik section for upper grades; the ANTOLIN reading program is active; two computer workstations support online research; library hours are Monday to Wednesday 7:00–14:00 and Thursday and Saturday 7:00–13:00. Kindergarten spaces include Literacy, Kreativ, Bau, MINT, Rollenspiel, Musik and Arabisch; there are further activities such as Das Freispiel, Projektarbeit, Portfolioarbeit and Naturerziehung.
Gymnasium offers Fachbereiche (subject areas) and Oberstufe/Abitur (upper secondary/Abitur). German-language instruction is provided, including Deutschsprachiger Fachunterricht and Deutsch als Fremdsprache. Studien- und Berufsorientierung, LeaD and Lernen mit digitalen Medien are part of the program.
Extracurricular activities include a broad range of Arbeitsgemeinschaften (clubs): Kreativ and other student projects in the Kindergarten; social engagement; on‑stage activities with large choir, children's choir and chamber choir; Flöten (flute) and other music groups; Bewegung und Sport (dance); Debattieren in German and in Arabic; Streitbeilegung (conflict resolution); Französisch (DELF B1+A2) on Saturdays; MUN (Model United Nations). The schedule notes that AGs run on Mondays and Thursdays, with bus connections arranged for AG days.
Deutsche Schule der Borromäerinnen Kairo is a German international school for girls in Cairo. It follows the KMK framework for Grades 1–12, serving about 620 pupils in that range and 120 in Kindergarten and Vorschule, taught by 50 teachers and 12 Erzieherinnen. The school teaches four languages—German, Arabic, English and French—with Arabic from Grade 1, English from Grade 4 and French from Grade 6. In Grundschule, the gymnasiale Mittelstufe begins in Grade 5; upper levels lead to the Allgemeine Hochschulreife as Deutsches Internationales Abitur. After Grade 9 students take the Adadeya examination and after Grade 12 the Thanaweyaprüfung. A Studien- und Berufsberatung provides early guidance, with cooperation agreements with universities in Germany and Egypt. Facilities include a library of about 8,500 books in four languages, a Mensa, a Schulklinik, and on-site support from the Konvent der Borromäerinnen in Maadi. Extracurriculars include choirs, MUN, Debating, DELF, and Sozial-AG for all students.
