DSDC provides services for a broad range of learning needs, including autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, specific learning disabilities, Down syndrome and Asperger syndrome. Support is offered in the classroom or a specialized resource area, with most students aided by a trained support teacher; a DSDC Advisory Committee inputs into services. Therapists in speech and language, occupational therapy, psychology and behavior programming are employed, and therapy is an integral part of the school day for Center students.
All students whose mother tongue is not English may be evaluated by Admissions staff to ensure successful integration into the standard classroom; literacy is a focus in Early Years for English language learners.
