It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
EBIS has an official uniform that must be worn at all times. Summer uniform is a white EBIS polo-shirt with navy trousers/shorts for boys and a navy skirt for girls. Winter adds a white long-sleeve polo shirt, navy trousers, EBIS sweatshirt, navy hooded top and jacket, with tights for girls; PE kit is a white EBIS T-shirt, navy track pants/shorts, and black or white training shoes with a back. Labels are required; no slip-on shoes are allowed; extremes of hairstyles or non-uniform clothing are prohibited.
EBIS does not provide meals; Foundation Stage children are not allowed to purchase food from the canteen. The healthy eating policy discourages sugary or fatty foods and fizzy drinks, and families are expected to provide meals/snacks with water available.
Pupils belong to six houses. House Points are awarded for outstanding effort or behaviour. At 100 points they receive Bronze certificates and a non-uniform pass; at 200 points Silver certificates, Silver/Gold cards and a canteen voucher; at 300 points Gold certificates, Platinum cards and a gold sash; at 400 points Platinum certificates and a shopping voucher.
EBIS is part of the International Schools Campus (ISC) network, alongside Concordia Lycée International Français en Égypte. ISC is governed by a Board of Directors; EBIS sits within this structure as one of the two main ISC schools.
Egypt British International School (EBIS) sits within the International Schools Campus alongside another on-site campus, educating about 4,000 students from nursery to Year 12 across two campuses. EBIS follows the British National Curriculum with an international perspective and a strong emphasis on culture and heritage. The school prepares learners for EdExcel and Cambridge International Examinations; IGCSE results are used as international benchmarks, alongside England's standardised tests at Years 2 and 6. The curriculum is delivered by qualified teachers and encompasses specialist departments in Arts, Music, PE/Sport, MFL (French and German), ICT, Science, Maths, English, Arabic, Humanities and ESS, with a dedicated Learning Support and SEN team offering tailored programs. Language acquisition begins at age five and a half and continues through Key Stage 4. The campus supports extensive co-curriculars with year-round camps and participation in events like the BSME Games. Distinctive features include a Paris Saint-Germain Academy Egypt sports partnership and a Student Council-driven community program with Share a Smile. EBIS's mission is Enriching – Exploring – Excelling.
