The school offers Cambridge CAIE and Pearson Edexcel curricula for Foundation Stage 1 through Year 12. It is officially accredited as a British school by the Egyptian Ministry of Education and operates as a British Council Attached Centre. Graduates leave with internationally recognised qualifications such as IGCSEs and O/AS/A-Levels awarded by Cambridge Assessment International Education and Pearson Edexcel. Native English-speaking teachers support learning across all year groups.
Art and Music are part of MIS's curriculum, with an emphasis on creative expression. There is an after-school Art Club for students who wish to develop their art beyond class time. The campus provides dedicated spaces for art, music, and theatre to support performances and exhibitions. The annual shows showcase musical, vocal, dance and drama talents across departments.
Second Languages are French or German, taught from early years, with DELF and Goethe – PASCH programs available. English is the main language of instruction, with additional cultural study such as Egyptology in humanities and related subject areas. Quran and Ethics are offered as part of the cultural curriculum and activities.
Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) experiences, regular school trips and an Events & Activities Department expand learning beyond the classroom. MIS runs tournaments as part of its sport program to foster competition and teamwork. The School Council & Presidency enables student leadership, with elected class presidents and a school president influencing school life.
MIS has a Sports & Activities Academy that coordinates activities aligned with community service projects, expanding opportunities to engage with local and global communities.
School Council & Presidency gives students a voice in school governance; from Y6 to Y12, students elect a class president and vice president, who then help form the council. The school council regular meetings channel feedback to the senior management team, and student-led projects have included recycling, water filters and menu adjustments. The Presidency and council structures provide opportunities to develop leadership and project-management skills.
A strong emphasis on physical well-being is supported by MIS's Sports & Activities Academy, including swimming (with two indoor heated pools), football, gymnastics and archery, among others. Tournaments and inter-school events promote teamwork and healthy competition. Learning Outside the Classroom complements on-site facilities with trips and experiences to inspire wellness, resilience and a healthy lifestyle.
