Manor House American School has operated since the 1940s, offering National and International certificates in British and American curricula. It serves students from kindergarten through grade 12, while preserving Egyptian cultural values. The original building in Zamalek opened in 1947 under Mr. and Mrs. Bullen. It was nationalized during President Gamal Abdel Nasser's era and renamed Port Said School. In 1960 the Bullen family left Egypt; the school re-opened in Heliopolis in 1976 and expanded with the Mohandseen branch in 1978. An I.G.C.S.E. section opened in 1991, with the I.G.C.S.E. program beginning in 1992. The American Diploma section gained independence in 2003. The 6th October campus opened in 2000 as the largest branch, serving KG–12, and the American program began in 2001.
