International Department follows the British curriculum preparing students for the IGCSE. The International Department starts at Reception level up to Lower Senior Two, accounting for 10 years of schooling. After Lower Senior Two, students who successfully pass will continue onto the Core IG programme preparing them to obtain their IGCSE qualification. Egyptian students must complete Arabic, Religion, and Social Studies subjects as provided by the Egyptian National Curriculum. French is taught as a second language from Reception. The school is licensed by the Ministry of Education in Egypt and is accredited to deliver Cambridge International Examinations (IGCSE) and Edexcel qualifications.
New Horizon has provided the IGCSE programme since 1998, and is accredited by Cambridge International Examinations and Edexcel under license of the Egyptian Ministry of Education; final subject exams are conducted under the auspices of the British Council in Cairo. Cambridge Outstanding Learner Award winners include Top in the World and Top in Egypt recognitions for individual students. The school publishes monthly assessment reports, holds a mock exam in March, and conducts final exams under Cambridge/British Council in May and October each year.

Extra-curricular activities offer a range of pursuits, including guitar, dance, etiquette, drama, jazz, yoga and mindfulness, gardening, arts and crafts, all delivered by trained professionals. The Cambridge Beacon School Award recognises quality and ongoing excellence in the programme.

1. Age eligibility and school year: Children entering the National Department at Kindergarten and the International Department at Reception must be 4 years old before September. The school year runs from September to May/June. Acceptance is based on availability and an evaluation of the child's skills and potential. The admissions process begins with submitting an application form for the applying child to the School Front Office. 2. Application: Parents complete an application form with the applying child's photo. The completed form is handed in to the School Front Office. The admissions office handles subsequent steps, including coordinating the assessment when space is available. 3. Supporting documents: The following supporting documents must accompany the application: 4 passport size photographs, copy of both parents' ID, original grades report from previous school, conduct report, vaccination certificate and electronic birth certificate. Complete the medical, transportation, and agreement forms for school files. The registration process will be considered only after all supporting documents have been submitted. 4. Student assessment: An assessment will be arranged once the application form and supporting documents are handed in and pending space availability. All assessments will be arranged through the admissions office. Senior School students must meet with the Head of the IGCSE department before their assessment takes place. Entrance tests for English language and Mathematics are required for transfer to the IGCSE programme. 5. Assessment outcome: Results of the assessment will be disclosed within one week after the assessment has taken place. 6. Parent meeting: A parent meeting will be arranged once the outcome of the assessment is successful. All parent appointments will be arranged through the admissions office.
Jubilee Scholarship is awarded yearly by the British Council to students in recognition of their academic endeavours and personal contribution to their school and local community. Winners attend summer school in the United Kingdom.
