Based in Maadi, Cairo, The British School in Cairo was established in 2004 and serves aged 4 to 18. It follows the English National Curriculum through EYFS and British framework, with Cambridge Primary and Secondary, IGCSE, AS Levels and A Levels. Arabic and Religion follow the Egyptian National Curriculum from Year 1, and Egyptian Social Studies from Year 4; a third language (French or German) begins in Year 1. In Primary and Key Stage Three, Cambridge curriculum is taught in core subjects, with Cambridge Checkpoints in Years 6 and 8. From Year 9, pupils join Senior School/IGCSE with external exams under the British Council, later choosing IGCSE O Levels, AS and A Levels.
